Why is focusing on performance so important?
You can prepare a song and sing it note for note, or memorize a script and recite it word for word, but without fine-tuning the performance aspect, it would most likely fall flat. It's hard to watch someone stand in one place and sing with their eyes closed for an hour. Putting in the time to learn how to break down a song, develop a character, and discover how a piece relates to you, is key to creating a performance that can have a lasting, memorable impact on an audience.
